Graphics:
Gunning for realism.....
The Empire Earth graphics are impressive. I was able to place snow, grass, desert, and sparkling water wherever I needed. Plenty of tree types to choose from add to the realism, in addition to endless herds of animals scattered about. Also keep your eyes open for a few easter eggs here and there. I tried to keep the whole map very busy looking.
Mechanics:
Silky smooth.....
Everything works very smooth. All areas of the map can be accessed. Copy the map files into the Data\Scenarios\ directory. Just like you see the directories arranged in the zip file. At least 256MB of RAM is strongly recommended, as this map is insanely gigantic.
Gameplay:
Horribly outnumbered.....
In this map you'll start out as the Germans as they attempt to build an Empire that stretches across all of Europe, the Soviet Union, and North Afrika. You will be outnumbered about 8 to 1 by the computer. AI-2 is France, AI-3 is Great Britian, AI-4 is the Americans on the western coast of Africa, AI-5 is the British in eastern Africa, AI-6 is Moscow, AI-7 is St.Petersberg, AI-8 is Stalingrad, and AI-9 is Kiev. It should be mentioned that the AI has proven pretty dumb in user created maps for reasons unknown. As such I've made intense efforts to script as much intellegence into it as possible. The results are sometimes the AI does pretty good, and other times it does nothing. Reload the map a couple times if it doesn't do anything. I would like to request the developers redo the AI in Empire Earth, as it stinks. Also note the insane size of this map. Weighing in at 685*373 tiles, this is probably the biggest Empire Earth map by far. Be prepared for an extremely long war.
Overall:
My first Empire Earth map.....
This map proved to be an incredible learning experiance. The editor is far more powerful then any I've seen before. Great job Stainless Steel Studios! Using it I was able to import real world height data for the area in my map, and then customize the world for a realistic World War II extravaganza. Many of you may notice I took out many things like the ability to build walls, but I considered hunkering down behind endless walls/barriors to be too much like World War I. With this game's editor, making such destintions proved easy. So, please download my map, and email me about what you think of it. If I receive any good ideas to put in I'll release a version 2 of it.
Story:
Once upon a time.....
Germany has decided to conquer her enemies once and for all. HAVE FUN!
