Looks like Britannia.....
I am attempting nothing less then to make a map that looks as close to Britannia, from Ultima Online, as the TA:Kingdoms game engine will allow. I wanted people to immediatly reconize every local just by one quick look. As such I have precisely placed each house, farm, and road just as it appears in game. I also am trying to make the forests look more natural by placing tree clumps in various areas. Also, I'm trying to fill it with lots of fancy little touches here and there such as waves. Truely beautiful!
Mechanics: Iron Plague not required.....
Pretty hard to screw up a Kingdoms map. I'll use this area to go over some limitations many people may have. First, if you have less then 128MB of RAM, then don't bother. It should never load. Also, I heavily recommend at least a Pentium III. Lots to process on this map. Besides, maps this big were made for huge armies, and that sucks CPU power like mad. Also, to fight online with huge armies a 56k modem may be too limiting. If you have a 56k modem then try it and see how it does. For those 8 players games a cable modem of DSL is a must. I plan to put up a bulliton board "somewhere" where people can post which systems are strong enough and which are not. This will hopefully allow people to make smarter upgrade choices so they too can play this map. But, for those who do have enough power to play this map, you're in for the best time of your life!
Gameplay: The world belongs to me.....
This is where this map really shines. For Ultima fans, this map will put them in a state of pure bliss. Finally, we vampires of Britannia shall be able to conquer the world for ourselves. At last we will be able to slaughter those patetic mortals. No more weak Beast British crying for the Avatar to save him. For my skeletal armies shall be unstopable! MWA HA HA HA HA!!! You get the idea...
Overall: Best Kingdoms map ever.....
Behold the first "Incredible" map for Kingdoms. For too long not a single map really, truely, stood out from the rest. Now we have nothing less then a full blown virtual world to conquer. Now we have nothing short of the world of Ultima Online to fight our wars in. I would truely state that no TA:Kingdoms map has yet to come anywhere close to this level of detail and sophistication. Need I say more? My map speaks for itself!
Story: Once upon a time.....
The vampire mage Dracula is plotting to raise an army of the undead, so that he may conquer the world of Ultima Online. Then he shall crown himself Emperor and begin a reign of terror. Can anyone stop him? Only time will tell...
