Graphics:
Looks totally spacey.....
This map uses CAP's kick ass space tileset. While many people may miss his features he made for this tileset, I left them out to simplify installation of this map. The one map, "Real Earth V1", I made that required a feature file recieved over 1000 e-mails, to me, reporting errors because they didn't download the TAMEC.HPI file like Stratos said to in the reveiw. None the less, I think the whole layout more then makes up for it. The patterned "mountains" are quite impressive looking I think. And the planets, astoriods, stars, and nebula's in the blackness of space is really swell. A couple background images in space were actually made by RawDeal though.
Mechanics:
Core Contingency not required.....
Everything works very smooth. All areas of the map can be accessed. The AI is fully functional. Copy the map file into the main game directory.
Gameplay:
An absolute slaughter, for you.....
I have spent many days creating the ultimate anti-air AI. Only the best players can expect to destroy the AI. And the bodycount will be very high. For my AI, that I call the "Drac Flak" AI, only builds basic resource generators and anti-air units. Including missle towers, flak guns, missle kbots, and tons of construction vehicals to wallpaper the place with these units. No other structures, or units, are built as they would just waste resources and build time. The result? Well, it'll take about 1 game minute, or more, to fly your planes to the AI's base. So, by the time you have a squadren of planes built, and to the AI's base, he's got a thick coat of missles towers and missle kbots covering his base. In short, the AI will chew up planes faster then you can send them. And by the time you get a lot of level 2 aircraft coming his way, he'll have flak guns EVERYWHERE! So, why not just nuke the AI? First, because that's cheap. Second, because nukes won't reach the AI's base. You heard right, the AI's base is so far away that nukes can not reach it's base. I designed the map that way on purpose. Sick or slick? Anyways, this is an air war ONLY! Not only that but whether you fight the AI or a human the bases are the most porcable EVER! Is it even possible to beat a non-newbie human on this map? Hell if I know! But know this, I have defeated the AI after leaving it alone for 30 minutes. Can you? I lost over 5000 units and killed about 500 of his. It's a war of attrition all the way. To win you must kill faster then your enemy can rebuild. It's that simple.
Overall:
Am I insane.....
These are intended to be the most porcable bases EVER! If you can beat a non-newbie player at this map then I have failed in my multi-player intentions. At the very least I hope the AI proves to be a tough nut to crack. Please note that due to game engine limitation the AI is unable to "see" your base. And as such allowing it to build offensive units would be a waste of resources. As such I have made it as defensable as possible hoping people with enjoy trying to defeat it. The goal on this map isn't so much to survive, as it is insanely porcable, but rather the goal is to defeat your enemy, any enemy. I must say this as well though, I doubt it's possible to defeat a TA veteran at this map. If two veterans fight each other on this map it's got to end up a stalemate. But as long as thousands of lives are lost, and countless tons of fighter and bombers are blown up, we're sure to all have tons of fun anyways. Right?!?
Story:
Once upon a time.....
Our Arm capital ship "The Liberty" has approuched the Core capital ship "The Overlord". Launch our fighter squadrons immediatly! We must prevent Core landing forces from arriving at Emperian!
