Graphics: Hard pack snow, ice, and.....
The land in this map is light blue hardpack snow covering brown sedimentary rock. This rock pokes above the snow layer in places. There exist various iced over pools of water that contain bright orange active nuclear fuel rods. This worlds temperature is so far below zero degrees that despit the intense heat of the fuel rods the surface of the pools has a thin rock hard layer of clear ice across it. A series of purple looking aquaducts drain away nuclear waste and have a layer of rock hard clear ice several feet thick on top as well. A few crystal orbs of yellow coloring dot the central landscape. This world has almost no atmosphere, thus the bone chilling cold.
Mechanics: Core Contingency not required.....
Everything works very smooth. All areas of the map can be accessed. The AI is fully functional. Copy the map file into the main game directory.
Gameplay: Don't get trapped on the ice.....
All the water in the map while frozen emits extremely deadly radiation. The nuclear fuel rod "pools" can not be walked upon, nor built on as the radiation would kill a unit instantly. The nuclear waste drainage "rivers" may be walked across but will damage units severely depending on their radiation sheilding. A select few units, such as hovercraft, are fully sheilded as they are of a newer design vintage and will not be harmed. While these frozen over "rivers" are indeed land, no buildings may be built upon them as they all lack proper radiation sheilding. Lots of metal is to be found in this map to compensate for all the units melting on the "river" ice, and several steam vents are a valuable prize on the central island worth fighting over.
Overall: Level 1 unit suicide.....
The moral of this story is don't bother rushing with level 1 units as they'll be hurt severely on the "rivers". Pee-Wee's barely make it across alive, and Fleas die halfway across. Level 2 units are much more durable. Hovercraft and aircraft may play a key role here. And of coarse, never rule out bertha's! I intended to create a possibly new play experiance. Please email me what you think!
Story: Once upon a time.....
This entire artifact was created by an alien intellegence of unknown origin. It must be captured for futher study!
